This service brings your instrument back into playing condition by minor adjustments. Emergency repairs are included in this category. Billed by the half hour.

Starts at $90 per hour if leaving the instruments

$100 per hour if needed as you wait repair

C.O.A. (CLEAN, OIL ADJUST)

Most popular service, recommend annually to keep your instrument in optimal condition!

Complete disassembly of the instrument and mechansim, body and keys cleaned, adjustment material (corks and felts) replaced as needed, neck/tenons refitted, body and keys hand-polished, instrument is re-assembled and adjusted, new lubricants added. As the instrument is re-assembled, any and all leaks and adjustments are corrected.

Pads are replaced at additional costs.

REPAD

Includes everything in a COA as well as all new pads. This service is for student and intermediate instruments.

MECHANICAL OVERHAUL

Recommended for upper level intermediate and professional instruments.

Everything included in a repad as well as key fitting, dent removal, solder work as needed. Premium materials and pads are used.

All overhauls are priced on estimates.

INSTRUMENT VOICING

A service unique to JH Woodwinds!

Every woodwind instrument has a unique voice and character, sometimes customized and skilled repair techniques are needed to further develop this voice. We call this Instrument Voicing.

This service is designed to address tuning, tone, and response of your instrument. Instruments do not come perfect from the factory but over many years I have developed and cultivated methods and techniques to help bring out the best in your woodwind.

We begin with a consultation and we work on one one to pinpoint your needs and how to best address them.

Voicing is what set’s our shop apart from others and allows me to use both of repair and performance skills to make your instrument sound it’s best!

Voicing is best performed after a full COA or as part of a repad/overhaul.

SMALLER STUFF

New neck/tenon corks, solder work, minor dent removal, minor damage repair, and any other small repair needs.

CUSTOM WOODWIND STANDS

Handmade out of premium hard woods. Can be configured for two-three woodwind instruments. Can also be configured for your current peg system to accommodate your needs. Pegs can be made for flute, piccolo, alto flute, Eb clarinet, A/Bb clarinet, oboe, English horn, penny whistles, and recorders.

Two instrument stand $50 (includes two pegs)

Three instrument stand $75 (includes three pegs)

STAND DESK

All black and secures to just about any music/microphone stand with a clamp. Soft felt lined tray to hold anything needed on stage or in rehearsal.
